Summary of Admissions Process

Early Years Entry: Nursery (from age 2+ starting in the term that a child turns 3)  and Reception (age 4+)
Key Stage One Entry: Year 1 (age 5+)  and Year 2 (age 6+)

  • Arrange a visit to Hilden Grange for a tour of the school to see us ‘in action’.  We can arrange an ‘e-meeting’ (via Zoom or Microsoft Teams) or a visit to the school. 
  • Because we understand that important decisions are made with heart and mind, we are always happy to accommodate further conversations to help you make a final decision.
  • Register for a provisional place in Reception and once a child turns three, they may start in our Nursery (registration form to be completed plus payment of the non-refundable registration fee)
  • If a place is not available, applicants will be placed on our waiting list
  • Early Years Entry (Nursery, from age 2+ starting in the term that a child turns 3 and Reception, age 4+) – There is no formal assessment for entry to Nursery and Reception; however, there are key physical milestones that children are expected to have achieved prior to entry (such as being dry during the day).  All children are required to attend at least one ‘compulsory visit’ to Nursery or Reception before starting.  Parents are asked to inform the school of any known or suspected development delay prior to the familiarisation sessions.
  • Approximately two years before entry to Reception (and prior to starting Nursery) the deposit fee is payable and acceptance paperwork to confirm a place (Terms and Conditions and Acceptance forms to be completed and payment of the deposit fee)
  • Key Stage One Entry (Year 1, age 5+ and Year 2, age 6+) – Entry Assessment: Age appropriate assessment is carried out where possible during the course of a familiarisation day, our Education questionnaire is to be completed and/or school reports provided.
  • Assessment Outcome: following successful completion of the assessment an offer of a place is made
  • Offer of a place
  • Entry in both Early Years and Key Stage One – Acceptance of a place (Terms and Conditions Acceptance forms to be completed plus payment of the deposit fee)
  • Joining Information sent nearer to start date
  • Start at Hilden Grange.

Key Stage Two Entry: Years 3 – 6 (age 7+ )

  • Arrange a visit to Hilden Grange for a tour of the school to see us ‘in action’.  We are happy to arrange individual tours of the school or ‘e-meetings’ via Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Because we understand that important decisions are made with heart and mind, we are always happy to accommodate further conversations to help you make a final decision.
  • Register for a provisional place (registration form to be completed plus payment of the non-refundable registration fee)
  • If a place is not available, applicants will be placed on our waiting list
  • Entry Assessment: Age appropriate assessment is carried out where possible during the course of a familiarisation day, our Education questionnaire is to be completed and/or school reports provided.
