A Nurturing Environment to Support Growth

We are incredibly proud to provide high-quality pastoral care in which learners develop the skills and tools they need to negotiate the challenges of real life. While recognising the uniqueness of each learner, our staff ensure pupils feel safe, happy and integral to the school community, and empower them to reach their full potential. By working collaboratively with our pupils, staff and parents, we build strong relationships and maintain high standards, ensuring all needs are identified and our pupils supported appropriately, be it through peer mentors or scheduled time with our school counsellor.

"Pupils show high levels of respect and consideration for each other and form productive relationships."

SEND Provision - Mrs Rebekah Sievewright

Head of Learning Support

At Hilden Grange, our specialist subject teaching and setting for Maths and English from Year 3 enable us to cater for each pupil’s individual needs.

When ‘Quality First Teaching’ is insufficient to meet the whole remit of a pupil’s needs, we are proactive in providing early intervention. We actively encourage the involvement of staff, pupils and parents in the education of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia are assessed and provided for in a variety of ways, so that children have the opportunity to develop to their full potential with the guidance and support of all their teachers.

Provision is made when the children need it, but they are not necessarily defined for life by this provision. Support for bi- and multi-lingual learners, where necessary, is covered under the Learning Support Department umbrella.
