Hilden Grange School


All parents of children currently at the school, and all staff are members of the Hilden Grange Association. 

The HGA Committee is made up of parents and members of staff.  We organise not only fund raising activities, but also social events to encourage interaction of parents from all years.  In addition to the committee, every child has a Form Representative.  The Form Reps. provide a communication channel for any ideas or suggestions that you might want to put to the school and also provide invaluable assistance in the organisation of the Christmas and Summer Fairs.


What a busy year 2017/18 has been! We started with our annual fundraiser for Macmillan, swiftly followed by Race Night and then Fireworks Night. Great fun was had by all, the Fireworks display was fantastic and the children enjoyed the games and candy floss.

The School Discos and Movie Night once again proved firm favourites. This year the October disco was given a ‘Friday 13th’ Halloween twist, the Gracey Hall was transformed into a spooky realm and the children had a chance to show off their scariest costumes.

Both the fairs were great successes with some exciting new activities in the line-up. Laser Tag and Didi Car Racing featured at Christmas and the Summer Fair saw a huge NERF combat arena set up on the playing fields. This was in addition to the usual collection of food and drink; bouncy castles and assault courses; assorted games stalls; tombolas; jam-jars and of course the chance to win some fabulous raffle prizes.

The highlight of the year was the visit from Happy’s Circus. A full size circus big top was erected in the grounds and we were wowed by clowns, acrobats, jugglers, dancers and so much more. The fabulous weather meant everyone was able to enjoy the games, bouncy castle and refreshments in the sunshine before watching the show. I am sure it’s something the children will remember for years to come.

We have raised an amazing £20,000 this year which will enable an all-weather play surface to be put around the Trim Trail. This is in addition to the regular contributions we make to events like Creative Arts Week, The Pre-Prep Christmas Entertainment and the Leavers’ presents. We also co-ordinated a special fundraising project and raised a further £4,000 to purchase a new piano for the Dining Hall. It was lovely to hear it in use at the recent Leavers’ Soiree.

The HGA also supports other charities. We have raised money for Macmillan, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The Royal Tunbridge Wells Hospital and Coram as well as the Food Bank at Tonbridge Baptist Church. The incredible donations received at our Contributions Days have gone directly to those facing food poverty in our local community.

Thank you to everyone who has attended and supported our events and particularly to the staff in the School Office and Grounds Staff who are endlessly patient with our requests for help.
