The Royal Academy of Art comes to Hilden Grange

On Friday 5^th November the children who attend Art Club had the opportunity to work with artists from the Royal Academy’s Outreach department. The Art Room was cleared of furniture; huge sheets of paper were strewn on the floor. The artist and model encouraged the children to draw expressively and most of the day was spent on hands and knees drawing with charcoal and pastels.

Some of the work was based on observational studies of human form while other pieces were imaginative landscapes inspired by stories and dreams. The whole experience was exhilarating and we all benefited from reflecting on the enjoyment and importance of drawing in a new light.
