Mathematicians race to victory

On 8th March, Hilden Grange was invited to take part in a 'Maths Race' at the Schools at Somerhill.  The challenge involved 20 local prep schools, each with a team of four Year 5 and four Year 6 pupils. 

Our Year 6 team performed well against some very strong opposition.  The Year 5 team led from the start and in a very exciting finish they won by 15 points - a fantastic achievement.   

There were also some extremely impressive performances in the Primary Mathematics Challenge.  Over 84,000 pupils took part in this competition across the UK, and two Hilden Grange pupils qualified for the final round.  They both won a medal - one a bronze and the other a silver - which places them in the top 350 children throughout the UK.
