Geography

We aim to make Geography relevant and enjoyable to children at Hilden Grange. Specialist teaching begins in year 3 where pupils learn about their surroundings through map work and aerial photography. We enable the children to make comparisons with other cultures, e.g. wearing turbans and saris and sampling tea!

Fieldwork and business enterprise are encouraged especially in Year 6 where individuals present their ideas, using ICT skills to an audience of ‘Dragons’. Ordnance Survey maps and a variety of texts and Atlases are allocated to each child.
